Connecticut Gang Investigators Association, Inc. formerly doing busisness as (Southeastern Connecticut Gang Activities Group, Inc) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. Our finances are provided by membership dues, donations, sponsors and conference fees. We have been determined by the Department of the Treasury / Internal Revenue Service, to be exempted from federal income tax under section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501 (c) (3).

They have also determined that the Association is a publicly supported organization as described in section 509 (a) (1), of the Internal Revenue Code. Donors may deduct contributions as provided insection 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Collected dues, donations,sponsors and conference fees, are used for newsletter publication and distribution, office space and materials, maintaining web site, Youth activities, conference / meeting facilities, instructional materials / handouts, travel, per diem and accomodations for instructors. All meeting/conference instructors have donated their time and availability to the Association and have never been paid for their time as instructors.
